Meet Our Team

Jeff Kruithof, Executive Director

Jeff began serving People Helping People as a consultant and joined the team as Executive Director in 2018. Jeff has spent his entire career in the nonprofit sector, and is excited to continue serving the friends and neighbors of Pullman. Jeff and his wife, Lisa, have three daughters and one son-in-law. He enjoys vacationing in Florida with his family, spending summer on the water and fall deer hunting in the woods.

Mike Jones, Community Pastor

Mike Jones joined the People Helping People team as Community Pastor in 2021 after volunteering with us for many years and graduating from the Fearless Family of Churches’ church ministry training program. Mike leads Sunday worship services, outreach initiatives and works with all of our programs to build relationships with the community and show the love of Christ.

Melinda Jones, Youth Manager

Melinda joined People Helping People in 2018 to serve the youth. Originally from Texas, Melinda has lived in Michigan for half her life and has been blessed to serve the people of Pullman for many years now. She and her husband, Mike, have five children and two grandchildren.

Deanna Oonk, Pantry Services + Volunteer Manager

Deanna and her husband live in the Hamilton area. They have two sons and a daughter-in-law. She spent several years working in the legal field. The past five years she has spent working in ministry. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, traveling, reading, and watching movies. She is looking forward to being part of the PHP team and serving the Pullman community.

Vidal Velazquez, Warehouse Coordinator

Vidal is a Holland native who is very active in his church, serving on the deacon team and as a youth leader. He is thankful God has led him to the Pullman where he can use his past experience of working in a warehouse to serve the community through the PHP Food Pantry. He loves the outdoors and classic car shows!

Ann Hatfield, Pantry + Family Services Coordinator

Anna has served in ministry in Pullman for about 14 years. “I love what I do and all the people I come into contact with each day,” says Ann. For fun, Ann enjoys photography, especially capturing Lake Michigan when she’s angry.

Diane Morrison, Pantry + Family Services Receptionist

Diane has lived and worked in Pullman for 26 years. She worked as a paraprofessional at Pullman Elementary for eight years, as head chef at the Marathon delicatessen for seven years, and volunteered at Love INC food pantry for eight years before joining the PHP team in January 2022 as a receptionist. Diane enjoys spending time with her daughter and four grandchildren.

Lisa Windemuller, Administrative Assistant

Lisa and her husband Mark live in the Holland area with their three boys. “I’m honored and humbled to serve alongside the PHP team,” says Lisa, “showing the love of Christ to our neighbors in Pullman.”

Steve Machiele, Manager of Facilities, Grounds, and Maintenance

Steve started serving at PHP several years ago as a GED teacher. He and his wife, Jadene, who lives in the Fennville area also served on the core team for our church in Pullman and assisted with Thursday night programming. They have three married daughters and four grandchildren. Steve began his new role in January 2024. 

Charish Crawford, Youth Coordinator

Charish has been volunteering at PHP in the Linking Center youth program for 4 years. She has lived in Pullman for 7 years and is a junior at Bloomingdale High School where she is part of the National Honor Society and student council. She loves building relationships with the children in the community. Her dream is to become a teacher and she sees her experience at PHP as a great opportunity and experience to help her reach it.

Enedina Garcia, Youth Coordinator

Enedina previously volunteered with our youth programs over the summers and joined our staff as Youth Coordinator in 2020. Enedina is a Pullman native, Bloomingdale High School graduate and previously worked at Pullman Elementary for 20 years. She is the mother of two sons and one daughter and enjoys cheering each of them on in their sports teams.

Tanya Van Dyke, Youth Coordinator

Tanya and her family live in Hamilton and attend Oakland CRC where she and her husband, Greg, are middle school youth group leaders. Tanya and Greg have taken the youth group to People Helping People during their summer serve week since 2020. In February 2024, God called her to work in the after-school program and Tanya and her husband to lead the High School Bible study on Thursday nights. Greg and Tanya along with their two daughters enjoy hiking, camping and playing games on family game nights.
