Volunteer with PHP
Without the dedication of amazing volunteers, PHP’s work would not be possible. Thank you for your commitment to People Helping People and the Pullman community!
Annually, 100+ volunteers contributed almost 12,000 hours to People Helping People’s youth program and 3,200 hours to the food pantry/ family resources, providing the equivalent service of over $200,000, or four and a half full-time employees!
Positions Available
While this list is not exhaustive, here are some of the main volunteer teams and roles at PHP.
Youth Team
Volunteers play a vital role in providing transportation, supervision, food preparation, and event coordination. Some of these roles are short-term opportunities, while others allow children to experience the value of consistency through the regular presence of volunteers in youth programming.
Pantry & Family Service Team
To keep our pantry running smoothly, these volunteers assist with guest intake, pick up donations, sort food and stock shelves, shop with our neighbors, and pray with those seeking prayer.
Are you skilled at extending grace and encouraging others? This is a wonderful opportunity to care for the people of Pullman. Prefer to serve behind the scenes? We also have meaningful opportunities where your work makes a real difference.
Worship & Ministry Team
This team supports our Sunday worship experience by setting up our worship space, greeting guests, cleaning, and assisting with visual arts and tech needs. Volunteers are also needed for our weekly ministry night, helping lead Bible studies, serve food, and manage setup and cleanup.
Maintenance/Facilities Team
With multiple ministry buildings, rental homes, and 15 acres of land, there is always meaningful work to be done on the PHP campus. Our maintenance and facilities volunteers help with ongoing campus projects and even step out into the community to assist our neighbors. If you enjoy hands-on service and want to make a practical impact, we’d love to have you join the team!
Auction Team
PHP hosts an annual Spring Fundraising Auction — our largest event to support the work of our ministry.
